Ferndale Museum

Come sit in the old-time parlor and feel time go backwards for a while.   Many have described a visit to Ferndale as a step back in time, and it's not surprising to learn that the entire town is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. In the late 19th century, Ferndale’s dairy industry reached its peak and successful local farmers and merchants translated their prosperity into “Butterfat Palaces”—large family homes built in the latest styles.

The museum showcases this splendid Victorian heritage and history of Ferndale with exhibits and collections including artifacts, tools, furniture, an operating seismograph, a telephone switchboard, working crank phones, farm and logging equipment, a barber shop and a complete blacksmith shop.

The museum also features a gift shop where visitors can purchase historical books, photos, bags, magnets and patches, all related to Ferndale.
