Within our Lodging Network of eight fully self-contained accommodations, we include a Bed and Breakfast venue, a handicapped accessible bungalow, accommodations which welcome children, a number which are pet friendly, and a brand new custom built 4 bedroom 3 bath home which can sleep up to 10 guests and is the finest, newest, largest vacation rental in downtown Arcata. Our accommodations are favored by HSU student families, guests conducting university-related business, corporate travelers, and visitors to our world famous redwood parks, to name a few.
ROSE COURT COTTAGE: Our B&B venue, a warm sumptuously appointed haven with craftsman era decor, is private, quiet, and romantic. Indulge in the attention to detail and thoughtful amenities. Enjoy a delicious gourmet breakfast tailored to dietary preferences and delivered to your door with the morning paper. PLAZA TERRACE STAY: Located on the second story above specialty shops, this one-bedroom apartment in the Craftsman-inspired Stillman Building, is steps away from the lively activity of Arcata Plaza, the heart of our progressive university town. Guests entering this suite may feel as though they've been transported to an urban loft in a much larger city. Contemporary decor and a muted color palette emphasizing nature inspired neutrals, creates a sense of calm and serenity. The main room includes kitchen, dining, and living areas with a view of the private rooftop terrace patio. The spacious bedroom with inviting queen bed has the bath en suite. A futon is also available which can sleep an additional adult guest or two small children.
PLAZA VIEW STAY: This two bedroom /two bath full size apartment is our largest accommodation. It is in the Stillman Building next door to Plaza Terrace Stay and faces the Plaza square. The balcony off of the living room is an ideal place to people watch amidst the friendly commerce and bustle of our town center. This stay is a bright and cheerful space, tastefully appointed with furnishings and artwork gleaned from around the world. The master bedroom has a sumptuous queen bed and the second bedroom has two twin beds, and both bedrooms have the bath en suite. A sofa bed in the living room can sleep two additional guests.
FOREST VIEW STAY: This spacious studio, overlooking a lovely garden with pond and waterfall, is located in east Arcata, two blocks from Humboldt State University and 8 blocks from the downtown area. Due to its convenient proximity to campus, it is an ideal accommodation for campus visitors and students' parents. The interior is appointed in a rich earth tone palette, enhanced by oriental carpets and fine art prints. A sleeping alcove features an antique queen bed with sumptuous linens and down pillows; the living area sofa can also sleep two additional guests. A spacious deck provides outdoor seating with a view of Arcata's community forest.
BAY LIGHT STAY: This lovely 2 bedroom/1.5 bath bungalow is the newest stay in our Network and can accommodate guests who have difficulty climbing stairs or who use a wheel chair. It is situated at an elevation which affords expansive views of Humboldt Bay and spectacular sunsets, and is walking distance to Humboldt State University and the downtown Plaza. It borders Arcata's Community Park with 620 acres of redwoods with miles of hiking and biking trails. Furnished in understated country French style, the great room combines kitchen, living, and dining areas, ideal for gathering and socializing. Both bedrooms feature queen beds and quality linens. Two decks provide outdoor living areas.
STREAMSIDE STAY: Just two blocks off of the Plaza, is Arcata's "GREENEST" accommodation. Streamside Stay is a two bedroom/one bath apartment with a deck overlooking Jolly Giant Creek, that is a showcase of environmentally-friendly construction and solar energy self sufficiency. Organic design elements, natural fibers, and recycled materials in a muted color palette, create a serene ambiance in this contemporary space. The lofty interior features many windows, a vaulted ceiling, an open floor plan for the kitchen, dining, and living areas, and a computer work station available for guest use. The master bedroom has a queen bed, the second bedroom, a double bed, and a futon and roll--away bed can sleep two additional guests. Streamside Stay is pet friendly.
SCENIC VIEW STAY: This east Arcata hideaway just north of the university, nestled in a woodland setting with an ocean vista, is truly a quiet and private retreat. The second story studio, with views of redwoods from every window, has an open floor plan for sleeping, living, and dining areas, and is appointed in a cottage style with attractive furnishings in a Tuscan color palette. The sumptuous queen bed can sleep two and a roll away bed can sleep one additional person. The deck off of the main room, provides an outdoor living space where guests can enjoy the panoramic view to the west or watch a deer family graze nearby.
RISING PHOENIX RETREAT: The newest addition to the Arcata Stay Lodging Network is a stunning newly-built Craftsman style residence. This custom designed, two story, 2300 square foot, artisan-crafted home with four bedrooms, two and a half baths, a spacious back yard, and a two car garage, is located just six short blocks north of Arcata Plaza, and two blocks from the Gateway to Humboldt State University. Rising Phoenix Retreat can be rented as a four bedroom accommodation or as a three bedroom, at a lower rate, with a fourth bedroom locked off. The vacation rental is ideal for guests visiting Arcata for weddings, family reunions, corporate venues, large families, or for folks traveling together for special events. This Arcata Stay can sleep up to ten people. All four bedrooms located on the second story can accommodate eight guests and the parlor sofa downstairs converts into a bed which can sleep two additional guests. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, second and third bedrooms each have queen beds, and the fourth bedroom has two twin sized beds. All of the beds are sumptuously comfortable, with pillow top mattresses, high quality linens, and plentiful pillows.
