Win a trip to Bigfoot Country
So you've seen the video proof that Bigfoot lives, and loves, in the Northern California redwoods. (If you haven't, check it out here or click on the video icon above. You may have some questions about it, such as, why does he live here, how can you win a weekend stay in his hometown, and who are Roger Patterson and Robert Gimlin?
Question number one is simple. He loves the redwoods and the Redwood Coast has the best: The tallest, largest and oldest; the drive-thru trees; half of the world's old growth redwoods, many in Redwood National & State Parks and along the renowned Avenue of the Giants. They are all here.
And here's the scoop on number two. You can sign up to win weekend trip for two to Willow Creek, the Bigfoot Capital, which includes a tour with Mr. Bigfoot of the largest Bigfoot museum, a whitewater river trip with Bigfoot Rafting, and a jeep tour up to nearby Bluff Creek, where the first so-called Bigfoot was encountered in 1958.
Celebrate a monster milestone
Contest or not, you can stop by Willow Creek and the Humboldt County redwoods anytime to look for the big guy. This autumn is a particularly good time as it marks the 50th anniversary of the legend of Bigfoot. And his human neighbors in Humboldt County are inviting everyone to join in the celebration.
About question number three. Patterson and Gimlin filmed a Bluff Creek Bigfoot in 1967. You may have seen their film on it, considered the best Bigfoot footage ever shot. That is, until we spied the reunion in the redwoods!
